POLARDISTANS - THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

So the exciting news for Kennel BlackSummit can now finally be confirmed . . . our team is to take part in the biggest long distance, pure breed sled dog race in Europe - THE POLARDISTANS 2018! Ryan and our four dog team are entered to compete the PD 160 Pulka class. This means they will have to cover a distance of 160km (100 UK miles) to complete the race in the snow. We are extremely proud to be representing Great Britain over in Sweden (6-9th March) where the race is held as one of the few UK kennels that choose to enjoy long distance mushing.

Competing in the PD has been an aspiration for a number of years and is the reason why last season we focused on mid-distance training instead of sprint rallies as we have done in the past. We enjoy spending time out on the trail with our dogs, building a stronger bong with them, overcoming challenges and sharing adventures together. Long distance mushing allows us to do exactly this.
