OBEDIENCE SCHOOL GRADUATES
Tonight was assessment night for Rowdy and Nome and we are pleased to report they have both passed with flying colours. It's been a busy night for us with one puppy in after another but they have come away with Bronze GCDS for Rowdy and for Nome both Bronze and Silver GCDS certificates. We're quite proud of this achievement as raising and training two puppies together has been no mean feat.
All of our dogs enjoy obedience classes and we ensure they attend them weekly in the early years of their lives to provide important socialisation and some extra mental stimulation. The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is ideal for us as it provides us with goals to work towards during each stage of a young dogs development.
We have always found obedience a great way to build a bond with a young dog as it provides one to one time but it also provides the necessary foundations for a good working dog that can listen to commands and it eager to please. We have used the same dog training school for all of our dogs as we find the training to be flexible to our needs and the class sizes a good balance of socialisation but allowing concentration.
