FIRST AMCA TITLE FOR BLACKSUMMIT KENNEL

Spring 2013 sees Bear complete the requirements to earn his AMCA Working Pack Dog Title and this is also the first ever AMCA title for the BlackSummit Kennel. The rules on the AMCA website are very clear for participants to follow; Bear needed to complete three separate trips, on each trip covering a distance of 10 miles or over and carrying 30% of his body weight.

All three legs towards this title were completed in the Lake District; the first leg in March a circular walk around Buttermere Lake covering a total distance of 11 miles. The second and third legs we completed together in May, another circular walk this time around Patterdale covering 10.2 miles and then an overnight camp at Skiddaw Fells with a total distance of 12.2 miles (including elevation.) Here are a few of our favourite snap shots from these walks. To view more have a look at the photo album Bear's Working Pack Dog Memories.
